Okay, I am going to be honest about something here…
I have an obsession with digital escape rooms.

The end of the year is full of chaos…
and I specifically like to set aside time for individual or group end-of-year conferences…which leaves all my other students to do what?
Good question!
My go-to activities are one (or both) of these summer-themed, common-core-aligned digital escape rooms!
Let’s talk about them…
This figurative language summer digital escape room is extremely simple to implement. All you have to do is literally share the link with students, and they are all set!
This summer digital escape room includes five tasks (done through Google forms and Google slides):
- Task 1: Figurative Language Sort
- Task 2: Figurative Language Seashells
- Task 3: Riddle Me This – Decoding Activity
- Task 4: Sea Turtles on the GO Figurative Language
- Task 5: Piece It Together – Puzzle Activity
Students are able to work through the tasks in groups or individually leaving me to hand back graded work, complete individual/group conferences, etc. Sometimes, I am way ahead of the game and can simply sit back and enjoy watching the students work through this activity with both excitement and a healthy amount of frustration!
It’s gold!
This no-prep common-core-aligned escape room will have students reading, answering questions, and eager to collaborate. It is also super easy to implement!
This product includes the following five tasks:
- 1: The Lemonade Stand- Chronological Order (RL5)
- 2: The Benefits of Summer– Reading Comprehension (RI1, L4)
- 3: Riddle Me This – Decoding Activity
- 4: The Unwanted Cloud – Plot Structure (RL3)
- 5: Summer Ready – Puzzle Activity
Once again, students can work through each task individually or in groups leaving you to complete other end-of-year tasks.
