Meet Mrs. Ceresani
welcome to my site
When I was a little girl, playing school was my favorite past-time and the only job I ever wanted. To say education is a passion for me is quite the understatement. The idea of making a difference in the lives of students daily is what keeps me going each day, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
In 2009, I landed my first “real” job as a 7th grade English Language Arts teacher in a rural middle school in South Georgia. Because I had to move away from my family and friends to take the new position, it was supposed to be a 1-year job. I would go get some experience and move back home to teach; however, I fell in LOVE with the school, the community, and the family-feel of my job. The culture of BCMS was one you can’t find elsewhere, and I knew how fortunate I was to have found it. While working there, I had many opportunities to step up to the plate in being ELA Chair, working on the Leadership Team, and I got to participate in and lead some amazing professional development courses.
After working there for 6 wonderful years, I was given the opportunity to move back home to be Instructional Coach at a large, rural middle school, and I absolutely loved it. Curriculum and instruction have grown to be a passion of mine, as well as analyzing and using data to drive decision-making. I would have never thought loving data happen at one point in life when I first entered the classroom as an English Language Arts teacher. The transition from being a classroom teacher to instructional coach was not the easiest, but it was so worth it. As an instructional coach, I was able to really dig into the curriculum with the teachers and help them to really break down their curriculum. The school I was working at had just received the Striving Reader’s Grant, so I was able to be a part of the Literacy initiative there and designed and implemented a full-blown Literacy Block with success. Leading Professional Learning Communities allowed me to really help meet the needs of teachers on a more individual level; I did everything in my power to always differentiate to where the teachers were and could use support. Our school was new to RtI, so I was able to be part of that initiative as well. After a couple of years working as Instructional Coach, I married the man of my dreams. We had a beautiful destination wedding in the Bahamas. When we returned from our wedding, we moved back to my first school district. This district is my happy place; it’s a school system with a culture and love for education that matches my own. I came back in the role of Instructional Coach and RtI teacher. After two years at my new school in my new position, an opening for Assistant Principal came up and I applied. I am now the Assistant Principal at a school I love, I feel like I’m living the dream! I still get to do a lot of “coaching” teachers, curriculum work, and lead professional learning, but I get to be a leader and have a higher impact on my school. As you explore my website, I hope you find some useful tips, resources, information, and someone you feel you can ask questions and trust. I look forward to sharing the great things happening at our middle school and to hearing from you.
