Description
In this standards-based resource, your students will use 3 passages and passage prompts to detect the meaning of words and phrases, including figurative and connotative meanings. Students will also analyze the impact of specific word choices on meaning and tone, including allusions and analogies. This 44 page mini-unit includes all you need to check for understanding and mastery of RL.8.4 with a summative assessment and rubric.
All answer keys are also included, as well as a teacher guide breaking down the standard into learning targets and Depth of Knowledge (DOK) stages.
